Background

A career detective originating from the north east of England, he is a former Detective Chief Superintendent and an investigator of international repute. He served in all ranks of the Criminal Investigation Department and was Deputy Head of Cleveland C.I.D. before taking command of the criminal investigation arm of Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.

His casebook spans over thirty years during which he has successfully headed countless large-scale investigations including homicide, terrorism, kidnapping, fraud, corruption, extortion and product contamination. He has featured in many cases of national interest.

He is a former member of UK National Working Groups on Major Crime Investigation and Offender Profiling.

He participated in National Working Groups engaged in developing National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's) for the Retail Security Industry and is a qualified Assessor and National External Verifier for the latest range of investigation and loss prevention NVQ's.

He founded Peter Reay Security Consultants and Special Investigations Ltd in 1989 and later he formed Investigator Training International, then Investigare and i-SPI The Web Outfitter.

Over recent years he has worked for clients worldwide carrying out demanding investigation assignments, complex investigative audits, extensive security reviews and threat assessments, and highly specialist training programmes.
